This is the genuine Zodiac OEM handheld remote control for the Vortex 2 robotic pool cleaner, supplied as a direct factory replacement for a lost, damaged or malfunctioning unit. It communicates wirelessly with the robot’s control unit to let you steer and command the cleaner from the pool deck without manual intervention in the water.

The remote gives you manual real-time authority over the Vortex 2 robot at any point during or outside an automatic cleaning cycle. Using its dedicated push buttons you can direct the cleaner forward, reverse, rotate left or right, and stop it on command — useful for targeting a stubborn patch of debris or guiding the robot back to the pool edge for retrieval.

This part is the OEM remote control unit for the Zodiac Vortex 2 robotic pool cleaner. It is a direct factory part and is designed to pair with the robot’s dedicated control unit. Always cross-check your robot’s model label and serial plate before ordering, and verify against Zodiac’s official parts list if in any doubt.

Common triggers for replacement include: buttons that register no response even with a fresh battery, the LED failing to confirm synchronisation with the control unit, physical damage to the housing or button contacts, or the unit having been lost or submerged. A remote that cannot be re-synchronised to the control box will not steer the robot and must be replaced rather than repaired.

After fitting a new remote control you must pair it with the robot’s control unit before it will operate the cleaner. The synchronisation procedure is described in the Vortex robot’s installation and user manual; the process is straightforward and requires no special tools. A successful pairing is confirmed by matching LED status signals on both the remote and the control box.

Aftermarket remotes frequently use mismatched radio frequencies or inferior button-contact materials that cause unreliable pairing and short service life. The genuine Zodiac part is manufactured to the same RF and electronic specification as the original unit, ensuring reliable synchronisation, correct button response and full compatibility with the Vortex control unit firmware. It also carries Zodiac’s manufacturer warranty, protecting your investment.
