This is the genuine Maytronics replacement active brush assembly (S1, grey) for the Dolphin Cainan 1 and a wide range of compatible Dolphin robotic pool cleaners. The motorised active brush rotates independently to agitate and dislodge dirt, algae and debris from pool surfaces before suction draws it into the filter, delivering a deeper clean than a passive brush alone. The complete assembly includes the active brush on its tube together with the active brush adapters, supplied ready to fit.

Unlike a standard passive brush that simply skims pool surfaces, the active brush is driven by its own dedicated motor, spinning continuously as the robot traverses the pool floor and walls. This mechanical scrubbing action breaks up biofilm, algae deposits and stubborn grime that water suction alone cannot lift, ensuring noticeably cleaner pool surfaces after every cycle.

This S1 assembly is the correct brush unit for the Dolphin Cainan 1 and is also compatible with a broad portfolio of Dolphin robots including the Nautilus CC, E10, E20, T15, T25, Cayman, Proteus DX3, Active 10, Active 15, Active Solo, Escape, Encore, Echo, Advantage, Evolution 10, Evolution 20, Avalon 20, PoolBot PB10, PoolBot PB20, PoolBot PB25, IZZY Climb, Energy C, EX10, Formula 20, Classic Light, Seamaster CL, Seamaster AG, Carrera 20, RUN 10, RUN 20, MR 10, MR 20, SM 10, SM 20, SX 10, SX 20, FON 20, PoolStyle, PoolStyle Plus, PoolStyle Advanced, Blue Maxi 10, Blue Maxi 20, ZFUN, Mini Kart, Maestro 10, and Hammer, among others. Always verify against your robot’s parts diagram before ordering.

A worn or failed active brush assembly typically presents as visibly frayed or unevenly worn bristles, a grinding or rattling noise during operation, or a noticeable drop in cleaning performance — particularly on walls and steps where the robot leaves patches of algae or sediment untouched. If the brush tube no longer spins freely when the robot is lifted clear of the water, replacement is overdue.

Genuine Maytronics parts are engineered to the exact dimensional and material tolerances of the original component, ensuring the brush seats correctly in its housing, the adapters align precisely with the drive shaft, and the bristle compound withstands continuous chlorinated-water immersion without premature hardening or shedding. Aftermarket alternatives may appear identical but frequently cause accelerated wear to the brush motor shaft and housing due to marginal dimensional differences. This part carries a 12-month limited warranty when purchased from an authorised Maytronics dealer.
