This is the genuine Davey replacement transformer (108VA) for the PoolFresh PFD8CE salt water chlorinator power supply. Housed inside the power supply unit, the transformer steps down mains voltage to the low-voltage DC supply that drives the electrolytic cell — making it the heart of the chlorinator’s electrical assembly. It is typically replaced when the power supply fails to energise the cell despite correct wiring and salt levels.

This transformer is designed exclusively for the Davey PoolFresh 8 g/hr model (PFD8CE). It is not interchangeable with the 20 g/hr variant (PFD20CE), which uses a higher-rated 180VA transformer (part 16284). Always verify your model number on the power supply housing before ordering.

Using a genuine Davey transformer ensures the output voltage and current ratings exactly match the PCB power board and electrolytic cell specifications of the PFD8CE. An incorrectly rated transformer can damage the cell, trip protective circuits, or void the Davey warranty. Genuine parts also carry Davey’s standard quality assurance.

Replacement of the internal transformer requires disassembly of the PoolFresh power supply unit and work on mains-connected components. This task should be carried out by a qualified electrician or an authorised Davey service technician. Ensure the unit is fully isolated from mains power before any work begins.
