This is the genuine Davey replacement O-ring for the motor backplate on Starflo and Sureflo series pool pumps. It forms the critical seal between the motor backplate and the pump body, preventing water ingress that could damage the motor. Replacing this O-ring promptly when it shows signs of wear or leaking is essential to maintaining a watertight, efficient pump.

Part 402824 fits the Davey Starflo single-phase models DSF300, DSF420, DSF750, DSF900, DSF1100, and DSF1350, as well as the Sureflo series. It is also applicable to the three-phase DSF3003FCE and DSF4203FCE variants. CE-suffix models are those distributed exclusively in Europe — always verify your pump’s model number before ordering.

This O-ring should be inspected during every service and replaced if it shows cracking, flattening, or any sign of deformation. It is commonly renewed when repairing a leak at the rear of the pump housing or after motor removal. Fitting a new genuine O-ring at reassembly is best practice to ensure a reliable seal and avoid repeat call-outs.

Genuine Davey O-rings are manufactured to the exact compound, hardness, and dimensional tolerances specified for Starflo and Sureflo pumps. Using a non-genuine substitute risks premature failure, water damage to the motor, and potential voiding of any remaining pump warranty. This part ships directly from authorised Davey stock held by Davey Europe.
