This is the genuine Zodiac control box (coffret de commande) for the Vortex 4 robotic pool cleaner. It is the external power-supply and control unit that converts mains AC power into the low-voltage DC supply required to drive the robot’s motor and navigation logic. It supersedes the earlier references W2076A and W2078A, consolidating both into a single updated unit.

What the control box does

The control box sits poolside and manages every aspect of the robot’s operation: it steps down and regulates the mains supply, drives the cleaning cycle timer, and interprets any remote-control or programme inputs before sending the correct signals down the floating cable to the robot. Without a fully functioning unit the Vortex 4 will not start, will stop mid-cycle, or will behave erratically.

Modelos compatibles

This unit is designed for the Zodiac Vortex 4 (model W9440). It also fits the Vortex 2 and Vortex 3 in certain configurations. It is not compatible with the Vortex 4 4WD variant, which uses a separate control box reference. Always cross-check against your robot’s exploded-diagram parts list before ordering.
