This is the genuine Zodiac OEM liquid storage tank (refrigerant receiver) that sits in the refrigerant circuit between the condenser and the Electronic Expansion Valve (EEV) of the Zodiac Heat Pump PX50 (WH000433). It acts as a buffer reservoir, holding excess refrigerant charge to ensure a steady, consistent liquid supply to the EEV across all operating modes — heating, cooling, and defrost cycles.

In a reversible heat pump such as the PX50, the refrigerant demand shifts as the unit switches between heating and cooling modes. The liquid storage tank accumulates surplus refrigerant when demand is low and releases it when demand rises, preventing refrigerant starvation at the EEV and protecting overall system performance and efficiency.

This part is designed exclusively for the Zodiac Heat Pump PX50 (parent model WH000433). It corresponds to position 53 in the official Fluidra exploded-view diagram for this unit. Always verify your heat pump’s model reference before ordering to ensure correct fitment.

Using a genuine Zodiac replacement tank ensures the correct volume, connection dimensions, and pressure rating for the PX50 refrigerant circuit. An ill-fitting or non-OEM part can compromise refrigerant charge balance, EEV performance, and the unit’s inverter efficiency — potentially voiding your warranty and shortening the life of the heat pump.
