With an overall footprint of 480 × 500 mm and a 2″ female-thread connection, this Hayward Auto-Skim Small is sized for liner pools where a compact yet capable through-wall skimmer is required. The rectangular body is moulded in UV-stable ABS plastic with no assembly seams below the waterline, making it inherently resistant to leaks and corrosion over long service. Its self-adjusting weir compensates automatically for water-level fluctuations, so surface skimming remains effective even when pool water levels vary.

The Auto-Skim Small body is produced from high-grade ABS with stainless-steel hardware at critical fastening points, delivering long-term resistance to pool chemicals, UV exposure, and mechanical stress. Because there are no joints or seams below water level, the risk of seepage around the skimmer throat is eliminated — an important consideration during liner-pool installation where a watertight wall penetration is essential.

Weir, basket & water-level management

A snap-in, self-adjusting weir responds dynamically to surface-water fluctuations, maintaining consistent skimming action without manual intervention. The rigid internal basket has a generous capacity to trap leaves and debris before they reach the pump, and the integral Flo-Control slide plate allows suction to be balanced between the skimmer and the main drain directly at the unit. An automatic low-water bypass protects the pump should the water level drop unexpectedly.

Liner-pool installation

Designed and rated specifically for liner pools, the Auto-Skim Small uses a 2″ female-thread port (63 mm equivalent) that connects directly to standard European rigid or flexible pipework without adaptors in most installations. The adjustable cover-collar assembly allows vertical positioning to be fine-tuned on site, and additional extension-collar accessories are available where deck thickness demands extra height. The rectangular faceplate dimensions (480 × 500 mm outer) are well-established in the European liner-pool market, easing like-for-like replacement work.
